In April, Rei, Shimada, and Nikaidou participate in a “human shogi” event held in the city of Tendou, Yamagata Prefecture, which is Shimada’s hometown. The event is outdoors and unfortunately, it’s raining that day, but the pro shogi players are given a warm welcome by the local fans. Rei is moved by Shimada’s interactions with the locals. Meanwhile, at the Crescent Moon sweets shop, Someji, Akari, and Hinata try to come up with a new product.
