Hinata is eating dinner at home with family and Rei the day before her school trip to Kyoto, but is unable to finish her food because of a stomachache. Akari tells her sister that she does not need to force herself to go on the trip, but Hinata insists on going to not have any regrets later. Those words take Rei aback.
He leaves for Osaka on the same day as Hinata, to challenge Junkei Yamazaki, 5 dan in the Newcomer Tournament final.
